Northern Ontario residents may soon be able to purchase studded tires.
The Liberal Bill could reach Third reading within the next 2 weeks.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle says studded tires
were banned in Ontario in 1971 because they chewed up roads.
Gravelle stresses studded tires have come a long way in the last 30
years and are now more “road friendly”.
He says the Legislation is intended to give drivers more safety
options to handle the icy conditions.
