Studded Tires May be Coming Back

Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky has long supported the use of studded
tires and now the Provincial Government has responded.
Legislation introduced at Queen’s Park Monday calls for the return
of studded tires on cars in the winter.
The studs would only be legal in Northern Ontario and the bill is
intended to give drivers more safety options to handle the icy conditions.
Krassilowsky has voiced her support for studded tires, feeling it
may help reduce the number of collisions on local roads.
Studs were banned in 1971.
