The principal of the school in Summer Beaver is hoping one of her former students will be able to accept a special volunteer award later this year.
Justin Beaver was one of 11 students who was supposed to receive an Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers at an awards ceremony in Toronto this Saturday.
Jane Tuesday says unfortunately Beaver is in intensive care in hospital after being assaulted in Thunder Bay, where he had been attending high school.
