Student Protection Act

Education officials in the Kenora district will get a crash course on the new student protection act today.
The bill sets out standards of conduct for teachers relating to sexual abuse and sexual misconduct.
Doug Wilson is Deputy Registrar with the Ontario College of Teachers and says they have also established a new code of conduct to coincide with the legislation.
Wilson says the changes were made to protect teachers and students alike.
The bill was passed by the Provincial Government this summer.
