Students Encouraged To Get Vaccine

It’s better to be safe then sorry.
The Northwestern Health Unit will be returning to schools in the area to provide immunization programs.
Manager of Infectious Diseases Donna Stanley says students in grade 7 are offered a vaccine against meningitis and Hepatitis B. In grade 8, females are offered a vaccine against HPV, which causes cervical cancer.
Stanley says having the immunizations in schools is a way of saving time for parents.
For more information on the diseases and vaccines, contact your local Northwestern Health Unit Office.
