The Canadian Federation of Students isn’t too impressed with what’s in the budget, or “not” in the budget.
It says changes to the Student Loans Program will leave almost 200,000 students with more debt when they graduate from university.
National CFS Chair Jessica McCormick says weighing Canadians down with enormous debt as they start their careers drags back economic growth.
The Federation says the proposed increase to the Canada Student Grants Program will likely only benefit about 20,000 people.
