Study on Social Health

The Northwestern Health Unit is looking at what social factors impact our health.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Arthurs says Generation Y, those born in the 1980’s and 90’s, has broken away from some of the previous generation’s attributes.
Generation Y also has problems with overspending, substance abuse and self esteem.
They also grew up on fast food and in a culture of instant gratification as well as credit card debt and over spending.
Arthurs notes residents who live in poverty typically do not have the best health.
