Provincial Police in Kenora are investigating a sudden death.
77-year-old Brenda Richardson from Fort Frances was identified as the victim and was pronounced dead at a home on Monday.
OPP say 26-year-old Trenton Richardson, a former Kenora resident, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
He is being held in custody pending a Friday bail hearing.
