Summer Tourism Down

One of the lousiest summers ever put a damper on regional tourism.
The number of visitors crossing the border at Fort Frances has been below average throughout the summer.
Gerry Cariou is the Executive Director of the Sunset Country Travel Association and says local Outfitters are reporting mixed results.
However, Cariou notes that the weather played a significant role in keeping short-haul tourists from places like Manitoba from the visiting the region.
