The Ontario Native Women’s Association is helping remote first nation communities feel more connect to large urban centres.
They’ve provided 3 years worth of funding for the Aboriginal Women help line called Talk 4 Healing.
Coordinator Robin Haliuk says the help line is open 24 hours a day; 7 days a week and offers service to Northern Ontario women.
Haliuk says often first nation women can feel isolated.
The hotline will offer services in English, Ojibway, Oji-Cree and Cree.
