A key member of Bob Nault’s campaign team says the Kenora Riding Liberal Association has to quickly switch gears.
Roger Valley was as surprised as anyone to hear that the current MP will not seek the nomination and is worried that Charles Fox is the only current candidate so far, considering he cane from outside the riding.
Valley says the Association has to take a proactive approach in attracting candidates and says Nault will be missed.
He adds the group must remain neutral and ensure the nomination is fair and open.
The former Dryden Mayor won’t say if he is considering taking a run at the nomination but says all the options are open.
Meantime, Municipal leaders in the District were caught off guard with the announcement from Bob Nault.
Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says they formed a great working relationship with the former Indian Affairs Minister and received years of support while he was in Cabinet.
Krassilowsky stresses that the City looks forward in working with whomever comes out of the new Kenora Riding.
