Aboriginal leaders say support is growing for a jailed native leader
from Northwestern Ontario.
6 members of the Nishnawbe-Aski women’s council have finished their
24-hour fast in support of Cecilia Begg.
And now another group, the Assembly of First Nations Women’s Council,
are in the midst of their fast which will end today.
NAN leader RoseAnne Archibald says the fast is becoming “nation-wide.”
NAN Grand Chief Stan Beardy and chiefs from across the territory will
welcome supporters of K-I to a gathering at the Thunder Bay Correctional
Centre today.
