Support Now Needed for Suspended Students

The McGuinty Government’s ‘Safe Schools Act’ comes into effect Friday and
it changes the way School Boards deal with suspensions and expulsions.
Larry Hope is the Superintendent of Education with the
Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and says the Board must now
provide support programs and counseling.
Hope says they are happy to oblige and will be implementing a student action plan.
The Province has provided the Board over $210,000 to offer
programs under the Safe Schools Act.
