Support Our Troops in Afghanistan

Dryden resident Patricia Kirkpatrick is hoping to make it a special
Christmas for our troops in Afghanistan as residents are being asked to put
together care packages.
Kirkpatrick says the public can also send Christmas cards free of
charge.
Kirkpatrick says she is leaving for Shilo Friday so cards and
packages can be dropped off at her home on 32-Barclay Hall Road Thursday.
Everything collected will be sent to our troops in Kandahar.
If you can’t get them to Patricia by the end of today, packages and cards should be in the mail before
December 7th to ensure they arrive in Afghanistan in time for Christmas Day.
Dryden’s Jessica Jones and Sean Latrue are serving overseas.
Patricia’s son Justin spent several months in Kandahar with the
Canadian Armed Forces.
Meantime, the Rainy-River District School Board is taking a high-tech route to
bring the message of Christmas home to Canadian troops in Afghanistan.
The Board is offering the use of its videoconferencing equipment to the
community as a Christmas gift.
Anyone in the district with family serving in Afghanistan can contact
the board to set up a free videoconference with their loved one during the
week before Christmas.
