Supporters Gather At ELA

Supporters of the Experimental Lakes Area camped over the weekend to call attention to federal plans to close the facility.
The group were members of Council of Canadians, and they were joined later by more than a dozen other supporters on Saturday for a 2-hour protest at the road leading into the research facility.
Ottawa is negotiating with the Ontario government and others to take over the facility, but funding officially ran out at midnight yesterday.
