A new survey finds Canadians aren’t deterred from distracted driving.
According to State Farm Canada, it’s a problem of increasing concern, with nearly 40 per cent of those surveyed saying they drive even when preoccupied with other things, and 33 per cent of drivers adimitting they check their phone once or more when behind the wheel.
Spokesperson John Bordignon says findings confirm it’s a problem of increasing concern, noting 25 per cent of fatalities on the road involving young people are linked in some way to distracted driving.
He adds drivers aged 35 to 44 are the biggest offenders when it comes to driving distracted.
