The Ice Dogs suffered another one goal set-back Friday night, falling to visiting Wisconsin 4-3.
Mark Walchuk scored his first SIJHL goal for Dryden GM, while Malcolm Huemmert and Nolan Marshall added singles.
The Ice Dogs outshot the Lumberjacks 58-40.
Dryden GM looks to get back into the win column Saturday night at home at 7:30.

Spencer Milne returned to the line-up after a lengthy layoff and it immediately paid off in a 5-4 overtime victory for the Red Lake Miners over Thief River Falls Friday night.
Milne played in his first game of the year and scored the extra time winner.
Morgan Venne forced the extra period with a power play goal with 1:40 remaining in regulation.
Ethan Stuckless, Tucker Evans and Red Lake’s Jordan Baranesky also found the back of the net.
The Norskies outshot the Miners 39-36.
The rematch is Saturday night at 7:00 at the Cochenour Arena.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the Red Lake Miners look to get back on track tonight. (Friday, October 18th)
The Ice Dogs entertain the Wisconsin Lumberjacks in the first of three straight games at the Memorial Arena.
Dryden GM is winless in five and sits only two points ahead of the sixth place expansion team.
The Ice Dogs defeated Wisconsin in the only other meeting between the two this season.
Game time is 7:30pm at the Memorial Arena.
The Miners are also at home against Thief River Falls.
Red Lake has dropped three in a row, while the Norskies have won their last three.
Despite some recent struggles, the Miners are only one back of Fort Frances for second place.
The third game on the SIJHL schedule is in Fort Frances, with the Lakers taking on the first place Thunder Bay North Stars.
The Red Lake Miners have now lost three in a row.
The Miners road woes continued last night (Tuesday) with a 4-3 loss in Fort Frances.
Kyle Uzelman, Morgan Venne and Carson Lux scored for Red Lake.

The Miners are one point up on Fort Frances in the standings, but do have two games in hand.
Red Lake lost its first two games of the year in Thunder Bay this past weekend, while the Lakers are winless in three.

It’s early but the Red Lake Miners and Dryden GM Ice Dogs are already showing that anything can happen when the two teams hit the ice.
Ethan Stuckless sneaked behind the defence and scored his second goal of the game with ten minutes left in regulation to give the Miners a 3-2 win on home ice Tuesday night.
The Miners jumped out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to consecutive goals on a 5-on-3 power play.
Morgan Venne had one of the two markers.
Curtis Magas started the comeback with a second period short handed goal, while defenceman Jimmy Sturdivent tied the game in the third in his first SIJHL game.
Zach Willms was the story making 46-saves for the win.

It was the third straight one goal win for Red Lake over Dryden GM.
The Miners are now tied for first in the SIJHL standings.

A pair of losses to start the season for the Kenora ‘AAA’ Midget Thistles Hockey team.
The Thistles fell to the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-4 and 5-2 on the weekend in Kenora.
Dryden’s Ben Hackl scored a pair of goals, while Nathan Ho added two assists.
For the second time in consecutive nights the Dryden GM Ice Dogs withstood a rally from Fort Frances.
Malcolm Huemmert ended up scoring the winning goal in the third as the Ice Dogs defeated visiting Fort Frances 4-3 in front of nearly 600 fans Saturday night.
Dryden GM jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period and then went up 4-2.
They were able to bottle the Lakers up in their own zone in the final minute.
Sioux Lookout’s Ben Forbes scored his first SIJHL goal, while Gavyn Galloway scored in his first game.
Dryden GM outshot Fort Frances 47-37.

The Ice Dogs wrap up their three game weekend series at home on Sunday at 3:30 against Wisconsin.
In Red Lake, Shaye Sommerfeld continued his hot start to the season with two more goals.
He scored the winner 41 seconds into the second period en route to a 3-1 win over Wisconsin.
The 20-year-old now has four on the young campaign.
Ethan Stuckless added an insurance goal.
Shots were even at 31, with Zack Willms picking another win.
Elsewhere, Thunder Bay got past Thief River Falls 3-2.

Justin Pitari scored his first two goals as an Ice Dog and was denied the hat-trick on a close off-side call.
Sioux Lookout’s Cortez Favot picked up his first junior goal on a redirection in front of the net.
Nolan Marshall also found the back of the net.
Tony Anthony made 34-saves for the win.

The story of the game was the Ice Dogs penalty kill as they were a perfect 8 for 8 with a man down.
The Ice Dogs only had a very brief man advantage.

The loss for the Lakers is the first for the 12th ranked team in Canada.
In Red Lake, it was the home opener for the Miners and the team posted their second straight win to start.
The Miners capitalized on their opportunities and once again received great goaltending in a 4-2 win over expansion Wisconsin.
Ethan Stuckless, Rajvir Sangha, Shay Sommerfeld and Ryan Howe scored for Red Lake.
The Lumberjacks outshot the Miners 31-23.
