Take Back the Night Dryden, Machin and Red Lake

Today marks the 18th Anniversary of the massacre of 14-young women in Montreal and Candlelight Vigil’s will be held in Dryden and Vermilion Bay.
The Dryden ceremony will commence at 6:30 in front of City Hall and a march to St. Luke’s Anglican Church will follow.
The Machin vigil starts at 7 at the Municipal Office.
The New Starts for Women in Red Lake will have a memorial display set up at the High School Football Field.
Each glow stick on the display represents an Ontario woman murdered by an intimate partner since 1995.
The goal of the day is to remember the victims of the Montreal massacre
and all the women who have died as a result of male violence.
