Taxation in northern Ontario is the focus of a conference in North Bay this week.
It’s the Northern Policy Institute’s annual State of the North Conference.
President Charles Cirtwell says they are examining taxation as a way of growing the region’s economy.
Cirtwell says it’s becoming more and more difficult to find the money to properly keep up infrastructure.
Cirtwell adds they are looking for alternatives to the existing system.
He notes it will be a complex conservation.
The findings will eventually be made available to the government, the opposition and various organizations to consider.
