Contract talks between CN Rail and Unifor are expected to resume Monday.
Negotiators with both sides agreed to continue talks after meeting with a federal mediator Sunday.
The resumption of talks comes as the union prepares for strike votes with a potential strike deadline for the end of March.
The company, on the weekend, pre-empted those votes by announcing it would lock out workers at midnight Monday.
