Talks On The Price Gap Between Gas In NWO and Manitoba

Hidden costs and government taxes are hurting gas providers in northwestern Ontario.
That’s the belief of Bryan Tardiff of Andre Tardiff Agency Limited.
He says it costs local retailers a lot more compared to Manitobans to purchase the gas and stresses that’s just the beginning.
Tardiff notes it costs about four cents a litre to transport the gas here and adds they pay 13-percent in GST and HST.
Tardiff says that leaves retailers with a small 8-percent window for mark-up and notes not many businesses can survive on that.
He says at the end of the day it costs them nearly a dollar before they are even able to sell the gas.
He adds the Ontario government is also talking about another 10-cent hidden tax.
