Task Force Vice Chair On Marijuana Plans

The federal government is indicating that marijuana will be legalized in Canada by July 1st, 2018.

Dr. Mark Ware was the Vice-Chair of the task force which delivered over 80 recommendations to the feds.

Dr. Ware says there will still be some challenges on education, enforcement and eliminating a generational stigma of marijuana.

According to reports, Ottawa will secure the country’s marijuana supply and license producers.

The national age limit to purchase the drug will be set at 18, but provinces will be able to set it higher.

Provinces will also be able to control price, along with how marijuana is bought and sold.

The government plans to introduce the legislation the week of April 10th.
