Taxi rates are officialy going up in Dryden.
City Council approved the increase Monday night after receiving no objections from the public.
George’s Taxi will hike the starting rate to $3.80 and will also implement an increase of 18 cents a kilometre.
The move is due to the soaring cost of gasoline.
Council also approved a $1,500 donation to the Canadian Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
Brian Collins noted it’s the same amount the City provided for post Tsunami efforts.
