TB Warning

Health Care professionals are being warned about the high rate of Tuberculosis in the Region’s general population.
Dr. Greg Gamble issued the alert at a Health Conference in Dryden last week.
Gamble says the TB rate in this region is higher than anywhere in Canada and people need to realize it’s a problem.
Gamble says the hard part of TB is recognizing it and the amount of drugs required for treatment.
He says people at risk include Nursing Home residents, Aboriginals, and those who are homeless or drug users.
