TD Bank Creates Grant To Promote Trans Canada Trail And Aboriginal Businesses

A new grant program is being launched in Northern Ontario to support aboriginal tourism initiatives.

A portion of TD Bank Group’s $1-million contribution to the Trans Canada Trail has been earmarked for the creation of the fund.

Senior Vice-President Jane Duchscher says the program grants up to $50,000 to aboriginal groups who operate tourism businesses close to the trail route between North Bay and Manitoba.

Duchscher adds aboriginal tourism is one of the top areas of investment for Canada’s tourism industry.

Eligible grants will go towards projects that target trail users as customers across Northern Ontario.
