Teachers Expected To Launch Legal Action

challenging provincial legislation imposing a contract and taking away their right to strike for two years.
A news conference is planned for today outside a Toronto court where the unions representing teachers and school support workers will discuss their legal move.
Education Minister Laurel Broten says the government believe the legislation will withstand the constitutional challenge.
The New Democrats predict the wage freeze bill will be struck down by the courts and will cost Ontario taxpayers more in the long run.
