The province’s largest teachers’ union says it won’t back down on asking instructors to keep their report card comments to a minimum.
Education Minister Laurel Broten met yesterday with Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario president Sam Hammond.
Broten says she and Hammond weren’t able to agree on her request the union rescind its advice to teachers about withdrawing from extracurricular activities and keeping report card comments brief.
Teachers’ unions withdrew voluntary activities in protest of a controversial law that freezes wages, cuts benefits and stops strikes.
