Teachers Voting On Tentative Contract

Union leaders representing the province’s public high school teachers have endorsed contract changes reached with the provincial government.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation says bargaining unit presidents voted 96% in favour of the tentative deal.
Teachers will be voting on the deal over the next two weeks with results expected April 18th.
The agreement makes changes to conditions imposed on the teachers under Bill 115.
The government and the union say the changes to the contract that was imposed in January won’t cost taxpayers any extra.
O-S-S-T-F Ken Coran says the union worked within the government’s fiscal parameters and came up with “a way of doing business slightly differently.”
