A 16-year old boy from Dryden is dead following a single vehicle crash in that area.
OPP say they responded to the call around 11 last night, on highway 502.
The small 2 door car was travelling north bound, when it lost control and left the road coming to rest against a rock cut.
The driver, Nikolas Ho, was pronounced dead at the scene, while an 18-year old passenger from Dryden was treated at hospital.
The road has since re-opened.
(DRYDEN, ON) – On July 22, 2017 at approximately 11:00 pm officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 502, Van Horne Township, near Dryden.
A single motor vehicle, a small 2 door car travelling north bound lost control and left the roadway coming to rest against a rock cut. Dryden Ambulance and Oxdrift Fire Department attended the scene to assist the occupants of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, Nikolas HO, a 16 year old resident of Dryden, ON was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the vehicle, an 18 year old resident of Dryden, ON was transported to Dryden Hospital for treatment as a precaution.
The Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) unit attended the scene to conduct their investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Highway 502 is open to one lane at the collision scene. Motorists are asked to use caution while travelling in this area.
