Forestry firm Tembec says there will be temporary shutdowns at all of its Northern Ontario sawmills due to poor market conditions and the rising loonie.
About 500 people at the sawmills will be affected by the shutdowns.
The company’s Kapuskasing sawmill will shut down for a week beginning July 6th, the Chapleau sawmill will go down for three weeks on the 29th and the Cochrane and Hearst sawmills will each go down for six weeks beginning June 22 and July 6.
