Tentative Agreement Reached With Public Board And OSSTF

High School teachers with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board have reached a tentative contract agreement.

Director of Education Sean Monteith says they managed to conclude local bargaining over the weekend.

The two sides began negotiating earlier this month, after provincial negotiations concluded.

Monteith believes it’s a fair deal and is happy this chapter has finally come to a close.

Monteith says the local deal came together much quicker than the provincial one.

The public school board will be holding a special meeting Tuesday night to ratify the agreement.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation is planning to conduct a vote with its local members in early December.

Details of the contract won’t be released until raficiation from both sides.
