Tesla autopilot speeds, driver charged

Police have now heard a new excuse for speeding.

“My car was on autopilot.”

It occurred last week when an Ontario Provincial Police officer was performing radar enforcement on Highway 11/17 near Thunder Bay.

When they tagged a Tesla doing 125 km per hour in a 90 km per hour zone.

But despite it being the “autonomous mode’s” fault the driver still received a ticket for speeding.
