The First Catch Is Always The Biggest

Today’s ‘Photo Of The Day’ https://www.ckdr.net/2023/06/05/first-fish-ever/ reminded me of the first fish I ever caught. Maybe seeing that picture does the same for you.

After seeing it, I found the photo that captured my memory! My first ever catch was a small one – a perch – while my family was vacationing in Morson, Ontario. I was just over 4 years old and I’m sure the perch weighed about 4 ounces….maybe. But man it felt heavy as I held it up on the stringer!!

I held that monster fish on a stringer for the photo op that captured just how huge the moment was for me! It didn’t matter that someone else in the family had undoubtedly caught something bigger because they weren’t asked to be in the picture. It was my moment and my moment alone! It was a big moment. The biggest one.

Make sure you capture those big moments while fishing.

Get your kids out there instead of just you and your buddies. Drop a line in the water with them and give them their moment to shine and make a memory with you! It doesn’t matter how big that first one is. What matters is…it’s the first one and you’re with them!!

If you have a picture of your first catch or your kids first ever catch share it on the CKDR Facebook page! If you don’t have the picture readily available then just tell us the story of the moment.

The first catch really is the best and biggest catch of a lifetime.
