Northwestern Ontario has the dubious distinction of having the longest wait times for long term care beds in the province.
That information is contained in a new report by the Ontario Health Coalition.
Coalition director Natalie Mehra says part of the problem is funding for home care services isn’t keeping up with the demand.
She adds that home care investment has never kept pace with hospital cuts in Ontario, and health care investments have been shrinking.
The Ontario Health Coalition says a zero per cent budget increase for hospitals has forced service cuts across the province.
