I’m not talking about our kids. I’m talking about our pets!
In the blink of an eye that other family member goes from being scolded and then trained not to do it’s ‘business’ on the living room floor to being the King or Queen of the castle. They grow up so fast.
They make our families complete and that is why many of us celebrate the other family member’s birthdays even if our pet is unwilling to partake in the moment. We adorn them with special treats, blow up some party balloons and dress them up in party hats and clothes. All the while they are probably thinking…..’can we just get to the food and special treats and forget the rest of this….stuff?!’
My other family member ‘Dexter’ celebrates his 10th Birthday today! Ok maybe it’s the other 4 family members that ‘celebrate’ his ongoing time on Earth while he just enjoys the extra Tim-bits and affection from us.
I think it’s important to celebrate our ‘other family members’ even if they don’t understand what the heck is going on. Don’t you?
