Things are looking a lot different at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
The facility is almost back to near normal operations after being shuttered for eight months because of the pandemic.
Manager of Community Services Steve Belanger says all minor sport users have resumed programming and that includes Dryden Girls Hockey, Dryden Figure Skating and Dryden Minor Hockey.
Dryden Oldtimers Hockey has also returned.
Arena walking and Pay-and-Play have also commenced, while Women’s Hockey is expected to start soon.
Belanger says they are now installing the ice on the Chris Pronger Rink.
“We have that completion date set for November 1. At which point we will be able to increase our offering of hours to all of our user groups and obviously we will be able to commence our curling.”
Life is also getting back to normal at the Dryden Recreation Complex.
Belanger says “Pool and gym numbers continue to trend upwards and is some instances they’ve surpassed our expectations. We would like to remind our residents and patrons that it’s becoming increasingly important to call and reserve your spot for either a gym or swim session.”
He notes they are nearing full capacity at times at both the pool and gym.
Belanger stresses everyone has been patient and understanding with the delayed re-start and they have been following all public health guidelines at both facilities.
