This week marks National Home Fire Safety Week.
With the colder temperatures on the way, the Dryden Fire Service wants to remind the public to be careful and cautious when using heating appliances.
Information Officer Reagan Breeze says to make sure that heaters are at least three meters away from any flammable material, and are checked out by a technician before being used.
Breeze also stresses the importance of having a working smoke alarm, and encourages installing a carbon monoxide detector.
