The long journey to the Telus National Midget Championships stops in Saskatoon.
The Kenora ‘AAA’ Thistles are taking part in the four team Telus Western Regional Championships.
The Thistles earned the berth for northwestern Ontario after beating the Thunder Bay Kings in two straight games in the branch playdowns.
The Thistles see their first action Thursday night at 7:30 against the host team, the Saskatoon Contacts.
Friday, they face a familiar foe as they meet up with the Manitoba Midget Champions, the Winnipeg Wild at 4:00.
The round-robin wraps up Saturday afternoon against the Notre Dame Hounds, the Saskatchewan champions.
