Thomas George Bishop

In loving memory of Thomas George Bishop, age 67 of Ignace, who passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008.

Thomas Bishop was born in Jellicoe, ON on June 13, 1940, and was a resident of Ignace since 1974 residing at 507 West St. and enjoyed time at his beloved Savoy/camp. He began mining at age 17 at Leitch Gold Mine, Beardmore and worked at various mines in NW, ON and Manitoba. Tom became a Civil Engineering Technologist- but returned to mining. He enjoyed curling in his younger days, hunting and fishing and served on the Ignace Fire Dept. as a fireman and chief.

Tom Bishop is predeceased by his mother Marion, father Archie, sister Karen and Brother Allan.

Thomas Bishop is survived by Miriam his wife of 49 years, daughter Christine of Nipigon, son Tom (Jackie) of Winnipeg, daughter Debbie of Edmonton and son Herb (Tracy) of Fort St John. Grandchildren Damien, Crystal, Lance, Tayler, Thomas, Melissa, Nick, Tannor and Hayden. Also Brother Van (Linda) of Beardmore, sister Betty.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place, as per Tom’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Cardiac Centre through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
