Tom was born January 15, 1938 and passed away quietly at the DRHC on July 10, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and raised in Hamilton ON. At the age of 16 he moved to Camp Robertson in Dinorwic to work in the bush. He later settled in Dryden and worked at the Dryden Paper Mill until his retirement.
He lived his life to the fullest as many can attest to. His hobbies kept him and his family busy delivering produce, chickens and turkeys which got him the nickname of “Turkey Tom.” He was active in the community and many would come to him when they needed a hand and could always count on him and his entourage to show up .He will be sadly missed by many both young and old.
He is survived by his children Susan, Lynne and Russell Brownlee, extended family; Colleen, Kent, Bruce, Patti and families, brothers; Larry, Ken, Mervin and families , 2 sisters; Patsy ,Beverly and families. Tom will also be missed by many friends and coffee drinkers. He is predeceased by his dancing partner in life Jean Ramsay, mother Helen (Robertson), father Harry and sister Betty-Jean.
There will be no Visitation as cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Wightman officiating, followed by a Legion Service.
Interment of ashes will be at a later date.
