Three dead after crash on Highway 17

Three people are dead following a collision that happened on highway 17 near Raith.

Ontario Provincial Police say they were called to the scene where two transport trucks collided around 3:30 a.m. on April 17.

All three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released their identities pending notification of next of kin.

The crash led to a 24-hour closure of the highway between Ignace and Shabaqua and has since been reopened. Police say they’re continuing to investigate.
