Three students at Dryden High School are headed to Toronto next month for the Skills Ontario provincial competition.
The trio earned a trip south after recently qualifiying at the regional championship in Thunder Bay.
Andrew Uber finished third in Culinary, John Wersteler came in second in the Construction category and Caleb Wersteler was second in the Welding event.
Uber says it was a lot of fun and the competition is a good chance for someone to “cut their teeth on something”.
Uber only found out about the competition a week in advance and he managed to pull something off.
He says it gave him experience in a high pressure situation and believes it will help him in his pursuit of a career in Culinary.
John Wersteler was asked to build a dog house and he says it was fun and challenging.
John had to follow the blueprints and the plans without a lot of time to prepare.
He says it was a great experience, as he plans to pursue a career in the Construction field.
