It was a record setting day at the annual ‘Turkey Trot’ cross-country race in Dryden Thursday.
Maddie Lambert (Open Roads), Caryss Kehl (Atikokan) and Shaymus Stevenson (Open Roads) all shattered existing records.
Raiden Trist of Open Roads, Jacob Benson of Dryden High School and Fort Frances athlete Jenny Hammond also recorded first place finishes.
Organizer Mike Wood says overall the event was a huge success, with over 300-athletes taking part.
Wood says 19-different schools were involved.
He stresses cross-country running continues to grow across the region and notes kids have embraced the program.
