The COVID crisis in Thunder Bay is getting attention at Queen’s Park.
Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott telling the NDP’s Judith Monteith-Farrell our plight here is being monitored and the provincial government is lending all the help it can.
“Additional supports have been provided there’s been additional money that’s been placed in the hospital to allow for more beds to be created,” says the health minister.
Elliott added “We’re very aware of the concerns in Thunder Bay and are sending extra help to help the local medical officer of health deal with this outbreak.”
While not confirming the COVID-19 variants are here already, the minister pointed out out those variants will eventually be the dominant strain of COVID-19 and they must be ready.
