Thunder Bay North Stars forward Jesse Talakoski has been named SIJHL Scholastic Player of the Year.
The 20-year-old earns a $1,000 scholarship on behalf of RBC to help defer the cost of his post-secondary education as a result.
Talakoski graduated from Hammarskjold High School in Thunder Bay with an impressive 97% average and is now taking Civil Engineering at Lakehead University.
This season with the North Stars, he set single-season highs in both assists and points with 20 and 28 respectively.
Talakoski is now up for a $5,000 national scholarship.
