Shocking news from the Ontario Provincial Police this afternoon.
They have charged Mayor Keith Hobbs and his wife Marisa Hobbs with one count each of extortion and obstructing justice.
Staff Sgt. Carolle Dionne says they started their investigation in January of this year.
“The Commissioner of the OPP was asked by the chief of the Thunder Bay Police Service to conduct an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior of municipal politicians.”
46 year old Mary Voss is also charged with extortion.
They’ll have their day in court on September 26th.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
