Thunder Bay MPP Walking The Line On Bombardier Contract

Metrolinx in the Greater Toronto Area is once again turning up the heat on Bombardier in Thunder Bay.

The provincially owned transit company is telling Bombardier if it can’t meet a deadline for a railcar contract, it will turn to a company in France to get the job done.

Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro is hoping to help both parties reach common ground.

Mauro says he’s working with both sides and he believes there is still an opportunity to continue business as usual.

He notes Bombardier is a major economic driver for the Lakehead economy.

Mauro calls the provincial announcement a “Plan B”, if Bombardier can’t fulfill the deal.
