Tim Hortons will be sending two young Dryden area kids to camp this year.
Dryden store manager Aaron Brown made the announcement today as the CKDR Morning Show broadcast live at Tim Hortons for ‘Camp Day’.
Proceeds from all coffee sales until midnight will go towards the ‘Camp Day’ program.
The Tim Horton Children’s Foundation started in 1975 in Parry Sound with just one camp and now operates six year-round camps across Northwestern Ontario.
Last year, ‘Camp Day’ raised $11-million in Canada and the United States.
Meantime, our area will soon be home to a new Tim Hortons Camp.
The camp will be located in the Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba, near the Ontario boundary.
Aaron Brown says it’s an exciting opportunity.
Brown says its taken a couple of years to get off the ground but understands that construction is imminent.
The leadership camp will be for older teens who have been through the ‘Camp Day program’ and will develop leadership skills.
