A pretty bullish outlook for the Weyerhaeuser Timberstrand Mill on the Jones Road.
The company held a community breakfast Tuesday to provide an update on their operations.
Bill Candline is the mill manager and says because the US housing market has started to rebound, they’ve been able to operate 24/7.
“Our fortunes are tied to the U.S. housing market. About 75 percent of our volume goes into the U.S. So the improvement in the housing market and the exchange rate has allowed us to get up to full capacity.”
Candline says the Timberstrand Mill currently employs 220 people, which is back to their pre-recession levels.
