Just over two weeks before nominations close for candidates wanting to run in this year’s municipal elections.
In Red Lake, Mayor Fred Mota is seeking re-election.
He is the only candidate listed so far.
Five people are in the running right now for four Council seats.
They include incumbents Dale Butterfield, Janet Hager, and Jamie Kristoff as well as Thomas Doherty and Janisio Mamur.
In Sioux Lookout, Doug Lawrance is looking to secure another term as Mayor.
Lawrance is the only one to file his papers to date.
Three in the race for Council right now with Reece Van Breda, incumbent Cory Lago and Joan Cosco confirmed as candidates.
The deadline to register is 2:00 pm on Friday, August 19.
